have a filed day,have a feast,go for a scarf out,pork out,blank out...

insomnia...

img86/484/insomnia409x273ws1.jpg

these covers...

img251/7996/s2759157bu0.jpgimg251/5452/rufusdoesjudykc3.jpg

ABOUT THE DVD:While Rufus Does Judy at Carnegie Hall captures Rufus' June 2006 performance in New York City, this film contains footage from a later concert at the London Palladium, which occurred in February 2007.Special guests include Martha Wainwright ("Stormy Weather"), Kate McGarrigle (piano, "Over the Rainbow") and Lorna Luft ("After You've Gone").

ABOUT THE 2CD SET:On June 14, 2006, Rufus Wainwright took to the stage to recreate "the Greatest Show of All Time ever staged in honor of the Greatest Show of All Time"--Judy Garland's legendary 1961 concert at Carnegie Hall; song-for-song, in its original venue. Garland fanatics feared a fiasco, but the show was a triumph. His sophisticated act of homage to his hero was both a loving tribute and an arch commentary on the original, featuring classics like "Over The Rainbow," "Come Rain Or Come Shine" and "Zing! Went The Strings Of My Heart."

Backed by a 36-piece orchestra and arranged by the Broadway famed Stephen Oremus (Wicked, Avenue Q), Rufus's vocal talent soars over those classic melodies on this 2-disc set.

ok decade

img263/452/dummyir6.jpg

正如luke haines曾经直白地在唱片封面所宣称的那样,"art will save the world".

copy it to promote it...

可以把你的DEMO通过E-MAIL附件给我们:indiebar@126.com(附件不要超过20M).

rufus@DG??

img256/2707/imageov7.jpg

artist:rufus wainwright/Fauré Quartett
album:yellow lounge
label:deutsche grammophon
release:2007.5.25

The Fauré Quartet formed in 1995 at the Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music naming itself after the composer Gabriel Fauré out of affection for his two piano quartets. The quartet has rapidly developed from a successful up-and-coming ensemble into an exceptional piano quartet. Deutsche Gramophon recognised this when selecting the ensemble to make new recordings of the two Mozart Piano Quartets for the Mozart anniversary in 2006...

wanna listen to rufus' new stuff?

click here to get a sneak peek of release the stars

There's a purple banner with 'listen again' written on it, underneath Ken Bruce's picture.
Select Monday's show and then fast forward in to an hour and 55 minutes. 2 hours is too far and is in the middle of the song. You have to listen to 'Afternoon Delight' first.

ken bruce就会开始播放going to a town了。

going to a twon lyrics:
"I’m going to a town that has already been burnt down,
I’m going to a place that has already been disgraced,
I’m gonna see some folks who have already been let down,
I’m so tired of America

I’m gonna make it up for all of the Sunday times,
I’m gonna make it up for all of the nursery rhymes,
They never really seem to want to tell the truth,
I’m so tired of you, America

Making my own way home, ain’t gonna be alone,
I’ve got a life to lead, America
I’ve got a life to lead

Tell me, do you really think you go to hell for having love,
Tell me, enough of thinking everything that you’ve done is good,
I really need to know, after soaking the body of Jesus Christ in blood,
I’m so tired of America

I really need to know,
I may just never see you again, or might as well,
You took advantage of a world that loved you well,
I’m going to a town that has already been burnt down,
I’m so tired of you, America

Making my own way home, ain’t gonna be alone,
I’ve got a life to lead, America
I’ve got a life to lead,
I got a soul to feed,
I got a dream to heed,

And that’s all I need,
Making my own way home, ain’t gonna be alone,
I’m going to a town,
That has already been burnt down"

about the cover art...

img171/204/image003po2.jpg

"The more I look at it, the more I feel like I'm suffocating! A statue without a mouth?!
I have enough problem breathing at the best of times: I'm gasping for air just looking at it. I hate it!
If that's the cover art, be assured the first thing I will do when I get my CD is turn it over. I really don't want anything that triggers my worst phobias and nightmares to be staring at me from a CD case.

Ah, well, that's as maybe, and I doubt many people share my personal phobia. I won't contribute further to this thread as I'm clearly not in tune with popular thinking, but I seriously and honestly cannot look at that image again. I can't even scroll up to take another peek at it. It freaks me out far too much. One quick glimpse was enough to trigger a mild panic attack.

I'm breathing, I'm alive, I'm over it."

his nue album...

"Wainwright is busy working on his next album, tentatively titled Release the Stars. "I'm going to mix it in January and release it in the spring," he said. "I originally wanted it to be kind of bare, stripped down, and intimate. And it kind of became more dramatic. It's kind of huge, actually. It's kind of operatic. I produced it myself, so I went all-out a little bit."

Wainwright said that Joan Wasser (Joan as Police Woman) guests on the album, as does British actress Sian Phillips."

The name of the album, which will be released early next year, hasn’t been decided yet – but with the impression this afternoon has made, it will be one to look out for. The songs are as nonchalant as they are beautiful, there are very cheerful and very sad lyrics and Berlin features in several of them. One song is called "Sanssouci", another "Tiergarten", which sounds like „Tear garden” to American ears, and in „Going to a town” Wainwright sings, accompanied by changes in harmony that take you to ever more beautiful places, about a city that was once destroyed. It sounds prettier than ever.
